Full-time employees at the Commission are contracted to work 36 hours per week. We offer flexible working patterns where possible to assist with a work/life balance and welcome applications from people wishing to work on a part-time or job share basis. We also operate a flexi-time scheme that allows you to alter your start and finish times and take hours back that you have accrued.

All employees working full-time are entitled to a basic leave entitlement of 30 days plus bank and public holidays each year. This will be pro rata for part time employees.

We are keen for everyone to develop to their full potential within Commission and we recognise that this takes significant investment from us and an ongoing commitment from you to make this happen. In your first few months you will complete our corporate induction programme, designed to help you settle in quickly and give you a solid grounding in the work of the Commission. We also offer a wide variety of learning and development activities and for our managers we offer the leadership and management development. There are also options for furthering your professional qualifications once you have passed the probationary period.

The Commission offers all employees, their partners and children up to age 21 access to a confidential service which provides information, support and professional guidance in managing difficulties at home or work. Short-term counselling and specialist advice is also available on a face-to-face basis through the programme.

The Commission recognises both PCS and Unite.

If you use public transport to commute to and from work at the Commission you will be entitled to apply for an interest free loan to purchase your season ticket.

In the interests of the environment we will look to provide interest free loans to employees wishing to purchase a bicycle to use to commute to and from work.

To support staff that wish to have a career but also have childcare responsibilities we are able to provide childcare vouchers. Subject to conditions

The Commission will reimburse eyesight testing claims, up to a maximum value. Additional support will be provided where lenses are required for DSE use only.
