Britain has taken great strides towards ensuring equality of opportunity, freedom from discrimination and the protection of fundamental rights. But as we know, society is rapidly evolving, and in ways that affect different groups in different ways.

Fairness is important to us all in Britain. We strive to be a society in which everyone can achieve their potential and where people treat each other with dignity and respect.

We hope that Is Britain Fairer? will be widely used to inform debate, policy and decision-making to ensure that we can continue to protect equality of opportunity, freedom from discrimination and fundamental rights for everyone.

The findings will also set the scene for the Commission's own priorities in our 3 year strategic plan which is currently out for consultation.
