In summary, the Commission encourages the Government to expand the employment reporting duty in Clause 1 to include a duty to measure and report on progress towards closing the disability employment gap. We also set out our support for Amendments which will place a duty on the Secretary of State to provide information broken down by protected characteristics annually, and to publish detailed information on the number of starts of disabled people in apprenticeships.
